Joey: Good question, I possess favor in neither direction for the unknowable. In the crossfit community, this is viewed as another “integral” variable of the faith. Reason stems from the encouragement that all practitioners be honed to a point of constant readiness. Similar to a Warriors ethos shared by our outstanding servicemen and women. However, training for defense of our nation and engaging in “fun” workout classes provides much contrast. I personally plan 6 months in advance.
Viewers of the opposite side of coin make mention that careful planning of progression and projected STG months in advance are hindered by placing programming in hands of another by not knowing what the next day brings. The choice is two fold; plan training cycles 6 months ahead to set focus forward or simply wait to see what the coach decides should be the focus of the groups effort and read posting the night before. Then, determine if prescribed “WOD” fits goals and interests. It depends on your desired level of control, planning and forward projection.
Arguments are made from both camps. History teaches us that the absolute strongest men of the world past and present, are meticulous in their awareness of what needs to be accomplished and what workouts will contain many months in advance.

Who cares about the wod? The powers that be at 305 are talking about a WORLD RECORD here! I for one am proud to be part of a community that takes part in such ground breaking endeavors. Kudos to you, 305!
It’s just u…what is the WOD? How about we honor Breast Cancer Awareness month by doing all ladies mamed WODs and/or try to raise some funds for the twins? That’s better than some stupid WR.

This weeks WODs are the unknown. The End. I don’t see why there’s an issue every single day. If you question whether you’re gonna be able to do the workout then….either don’t do it or scale once u find out what it is.
