Daniel Martin is a trainer and co-owner at CrossFit 305
I have been involved in athletics since the age of 5, following my parents’ running habits and insisting on stop watch timing for my block running. I started competitive swimming at the age of 8. Throughout middle school I was involved in track, cross country, swimming, soccer and basketball. In high school I was a letter athlete in track, swimming and cross country, competing at the state level in all three and having the chance to be a part of state champion teams in swimming and track. I have remained active and competitive in triathlon, road racing, basketball and CrossFit.
My days are filled with coaching people from all walks of life through CrossFit. Some of my favorite moments are seeing people get their first pull up, muscle up, snatch, heavy deadlift or fast quarter mile. I am dedicated to continued education and knowledge in order to better serve my clients. I am currently certified by the International Sports Science Association as a fitness trainer, USA Track & Field as a coach and CrossFit as a Level 1 coach.

Peter Kazanas is a trainer and co-owner at CrossFit 305
I have been a certified personal trainer since 2003, but have been involved in personal fitness endeavors long before then. My passion for a healthy body led me to want to inspire and help others to find their path to fitness and health. As a trainer I’ve witnessed first hand the benefits of my own fitness and the effect it has on others. I have had a great deal of experience teaching group classes and this experience made the transition to teaching Crossfit natural for me. I now find a great deal of joy in teaching and doing the Olympic lifts, as well as all of the other Crossfit modalities .
I have held certifications from AFAA and now hold an NASM trainer certification. I am a USAW Club Coach and am Crossfit Level 1 certifiied.

Joseph Phelan is a trainer at CrossFit 305
I ran track, threw shot put, and played basketball in school. While in Jr. high school I was a champion regional fencer and qualified for the Jr. Olympics two years in a row. As I got older organized sport became less important to me, but I found ways to stay fit. I was a bicycle messenger for several years in Brooklyn, New York and later I started distance running and weightlifting.
Since my move to Miami my interest in fitness has grown. As those around me asked me questions and advice about fitness I set out to learn about fitness and healthy living. I approach fitness holistically with the intention of having a positive impact on physical, emotional, and psychological well being. I am particularly interested in mitigating modern diseases (diabetes, heart disease, metabolic derangement, etc) through proper eating and exercise. To this end I am dedicated to bringing informed quality coaching to my clients and CrossFit 305 members. Nothing is more exciting then seeing people of all skill levels advance towards their goals, make healthy choices, and live happy lives for it.
I am American Council on Exercise Certified Personal Trainer, a CrossFit Level 1 certified coach and I hold a certificate from CrossFit Nutrition taught by Robb Wolf.

Certifications:
- CrossFit Level 1
- CrossFit Kids
I ran my first 5k race when I was 11 years old. Still have the race number somewhere. Since then, I have completed marathons, bike races and three Ironman Triathlons including the World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. One day my wife, Helen, and I noticed that children had begun popping up all over our house, and I could no longer dedicate the time necessary to train for endurance events. Some friends from Chicago introduced me to the world of CrossFit and I was stung. No need to go into all of the reasons here why I love CrossFit, but I’ll be happy to talk your ear off for hours if you ask me about it. I continually introduce CrossFit to neighbors, friends and strangers everywhere and take a tremendous pride in seeing their enthusiasm and the immediate results of their efforts once they get hooked too.
I’m extremely excited to be part of the team that introduces CrossFit to our kids. CrossFit Kids is a wonderful opportunity to shape childrens’ lives and to teach them to enjoy safe exercise and healthy living because it makes them feel better. My goal is to educate kids and start them off properly down the road towards a lifetime of fitness and nutrition. I cannot think of a better gift to give our children.
